The short answer
Businesses in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland buy wooden pallets from local pallet suppliers, who sell new pallets, used (recycled) pallets, or both, and usually deliver. Magic Pallets is one of them: we sell new, Grade A used, Grade B used, block, custom and heat-treated export pallets, deliver across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, and take orders from 2 pallets to more than 1,000.
The rest of this guide covers the choices that decide what you should order and what it costs you in time and money.
New or used pallets?
Used pallets cost less than new and suit most warehouse storage and domestic shipping. They come in grades: Grade A pallets are in good condition with minimal repairs and look clean enough for customer-facing shipments; Grade B pallets have more repairs and are the most economical choice for internal storage, one-way shipping and general use.
New pallets make sense when you need identical pallets for automated equipment or racking, a clean look for food or retail, or a size that is hard to find used. If you are shipping overseas, you need heat-treated pallets that meet ISPM-15, which can be new or used. Our guides on new vs used pallets and Grade A vs Grade B go into more detail.
Delivered or collected?
Most businesses have pallets delivered. A supplier with its own trucks can drop them at your dock or yard, often the same week and sometimes the same day. Magic Pallets delivers across Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Richmond, Delta, Langley, Coquitlam and the Fraser Valley.
If you have a truck or trailer and only need a few, collecting them yourself can be simpler. Our yard is in Surrey; collection is arranged once your order is confirmed, and we give you the yard details and a time then.
Can a small business buy just a few pallets?
Yes. Many suppliers focus on truckloads, but small orders are common: a shop moving stock, a contractor on a job site, or a new business setting up storage. We have filled orders from as few as 2 pallets. For small orders we confirm delivery or collection when we quote.
One supplier for buying and pickup
Many businesses both use pallets and end up with pallets they no longer need. Magic Pallets does both: we sell pallets and we pick up and recycle used ones from businesses across the Lower Mainland. Using one supplier for both means fewer calls and one relationship to manage.
Large and repeat orders
Warehouses and distribution centres that go through pallets every week usually set up regular deliveries rather than placing large one-off orders. Prices are quoted per order and depend on the grade, size and quantity, so tell us roughly how many you use in a week or a month and we'll quote for that volume.
What to have ready when you ask for a quote
A quote is fastest when you can give: the pallet type or what you're shipping on it; the size, if it isn't the standard 48 x 40 inch; roughly how many you need; whether they're for export; and the delivery city or whether you'll collect.
Send those through our quote form or call 236-479-8837, and we'll reply within one business day.
