Why recycle pallets?
A standard wooden pallet can be reused 10 to 15 times before the wood is no longer structurally sound. Recycling extends this lifecycle by repairing damaged pallets and returning them to active use. For warehouses, recycling is both an environmental and economic decision — it reduces waste disposal costs and keeps usable pallets in the supply chain.

The recycling process
Pallet recycling starts with collection. Magic Pallets picks up used pallets directly from warehouses and distribution centers across Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Richmond, Delta, Langley, Coquitlam, and the rest of the Lower Mainland. We handle the logistics so your team doesn't have to.
Once collected, pallets are sorted by condition. Pallets in good structural condition are cleaned and returned to inventory as Grade A or Grade B used pallets. Pallets with damage are disassembled — usable boards and stringers are salvaged for repairs, and wood that cannot be reused is sent for grinding into mulch, animal bedding, or biomass fuel.
What happens to damaged pallets?
Pallets that can be repaired are fixed with replacement boards, new nails, and reinforced stringers. A repaired pallet meets the same structural standards as any used pallet and is safe for warehouse and shipping use.
Wood that is beyond repair is processed into secondary products. Ground wood becomes landscaping mulch, animal bedding, or fuel for biomass energy facilities in BC. Very little goes to landfill when pallets are processed through a proper recycling operation.
